Hello everybody! This is my first list of new year 2017!
As you know, I make movie lists every single year since I founded my web site www.tst.gen.tr in 1999. Since then; “Titanic”, “Gladiator”, “The Fifth Element”, “The Lord Of The Rings”, “Signs”, “Hair”, “Captain EO”, “Crash”, “The Devil’s Arithmetic”, “Jumper”, “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button”, “This Is It”, “Inception”, “Immortals”, “The Avengers”, “The Hunger Games”, “He-Man: Masters Of The Universe” and “The Water Diviner” became winners between 1999 and 2016. Now a new year has come: it is 2017! I hope you know the rule. If a movie enters TST Interactive’s cinema list, the reproductions of the movie or continuations of the series can’t able to enter my list again. For example, last year I have watched “The Huntsman: Winter’s War”, “Captain America: Civil War”, “X-Men: Apocalypse”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief”, “Independence Day: Resurgence”, “The Hungover Games”, “Moonraker”, “Never Say Never Again”, “Rogue One” and “Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning” but they couldn’t enter my new list, because in the previous cinema lists, their first versions could enter. In 2016, I have watched lots of movies and most of them were very good and some of them had a potential to be number one. But this time It wasn’t very hard to decide number one. Because when I’ve watched “Doctor Strange” in the cinema saloon, the movie affected me very much. To be honest, I can tell you that I’ve never seen a movie like “Doctor Strange” before… It is a super hero movie, but also it is a time travel movie, contains master and apprentice elements like “The Karate Kid” or “The Matrix”, has a mystical subjecjt like “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and the visual effects are really strange and interesting like Leonardo DiCaprio’s “Inception” movie. If you didn’t watch it, this means that you’ve lost many things.
Anyway, I put the unique movies in my lists every year. However, in 2009, I made an “all-time greatest movie” list to celebrate my web site’s 10th year birthday. The special and unique list’s winner was “Moonwalker” and was translated into several languages for being in the news. In 2015 I made “The Best Musical Movies” list for www.sadecemuzik.net web site and of course, Michael Jackson’s “Ghosts” became number one. In addition to this, in 2016 I made a list of best super hero movies of all time to celebrate “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” became the champion in the list. Also in 2014, I published another alternative list which is consisted by greatest time travel movies and “Butterfly Effect” was number one in that list. After I did the list, I have continued to watch time travel movies and TV series. In 2016 I have watched movies called “Alice Through the Looking Glass”, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” and “Doctor Strange” which was told by me before.
I dedicated this page to the stars who are lost. For example in 2016 we lost many celebrities such as “Speaking Of The Devil”s actor Bud Spencer, legendary actress Zsa Zsa Gabor who is a fan of Turkish Republic’s founder Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Gene Wilder who is “Charlie’s Chocolate Factory”s old version’s Willy Wonka, Noel Neill who acted Superman’s girlfriend Lois Lane, “Star Trek”s star Anton Yelchin, Prince who also became successful in cinema with “Purple Rain” movie, David Bowie who entered my 2013 movies list with his “August” movie, Carrie Fisher who is Princess Leia in Star Wars series, Fisher’s mother Debbie Reynolds who acted in “Singin’ In The Rain” which was in my 2012 movie list… And also there are some stars like Paul Walker, James Dean, Natalie Wood, Sal Mineo, Brandon Lee who are shown in this list’s movies but died in previous years. I want to say “R.I.P” for them…
