As you know, I make movie lists every single year since I founded my web site www.tst.gen.tr in 1999. Since then; “Titanic”, “Gladiator”, “The Fifth Element”, “The Lord Of The Rings”, “Signs”, “Hair”, “Captain EO”, “Crash”, “The Devil’s Arithmetic”, “Jumper”, “The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button”, “This Is It”, “Inception”, “Immortals” and “The Avengers” became winners between 1999 and 2013. Now a new year has come: it is 2014! I hope you know the rule. If a movie enters TST Interactive’s cinema list, the reproductions of the movie or continuations of the series can’t able to enter my list again. For example, last year I have watched Goran Visnjic’s “Spartacus”, Robert Downey Jr.’s “Ironman 3D”, Chris Pine’s “Star Trek Into Darkness”, Hilary Swank’s “The Next Karate Kid”, Chris Hemsworth’s “Thor: The Dark World” but they couldn’t enter my new list, because in the previous cinema lists, their first versions could enter. So, the other movies had a chance to become top! If I would put every series, maybe James Franco’s “Oz the Great and Powerful” would be number one and Henry Cavill and Russell Crowe’s “Man Of Steel” would be number two. So Jennifer Lawrence’s “The Hunger Games” wouldn’t be #1! However, “Man Of Steel” is a new Superman version and Superman was already in 1999 list. Of course, sometimes I make little mistakes. For example, I didn’t put “Oz the Great and Powerful”, because it is a new version of Michael Jackson and Diana Ross’ “The Wiz” which could enter my 2000 list but I put Judy Garland’s “The Wizard Of Oz” to my 2003 movie list even they are the same story. Or I thought Nicholas Hammond’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” TV series was a movie and put it to my 2000 movie list but when it really became a Hollywood movie with Tobey Maguire, I put “Spiderman” in my 2003 movie list again. Expect these exceptionals, I have a stableness since my 1999 list.
In 2013, I have watched lots of movies and most of them were very good and some of them had a potential to be number one. It was really hard to decide number one. I chose “The Hunger Games” as #1 of my 2014 movie list, because I have watched both “The Hunger Games” and “Catching Fire” last year, so this movie became powerful than the others with two movies.
I dedicated this page to the stars who are lost, especially this time Marilyn Monroe who has got many movies in this list; Princess Lady Diana who’s performed by Naomi Watts in “Diana” movie; actor of “Fast and Furious” Paul Walker who died last month in a traffic accident and also acted in “Eight Below”, “Into The Blue” and “Timeline” which are listed in previous TST Interactive movie lists; Jim Morrison who is performed by Val Kilmer in “The Doors” movie; Tupac Shakur who has got two movies in this list; Leslie Nielsen who acted in “Superhero Movie” which is in this list; River Phoenix who acted in “Explorers”; all of Marilyn Monroe’s friends who died especially Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon; “Giant”s stars Elizabeth Taylor, James Dean and Rock Hudson; “Gabriel”s actor Andy Whitfield (I didn’t use his photo, because I dedicated 2012 movies page to him already with his photo); Michael Clarke Duncan who acted in “Sin City” which is in this list and “Daredevil”, “The Green Mile”, “Planet Of The Apes”, “The Scorpion King”, “Armageddon”, “The Island” which were in previous lists; Heath Ledger who has “Brokeback Mountain” in this list + “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”, “The Brothers Grimm”, “The Dark Knight”, “The Patriot”, “Casanova”, “A Knight’s Tale”,”10 Things I Hate About You” in previous lists and Cory Monteith… I know that Cory hasn’t got a movie in this list, but “Glee”s star acted in some Hollywood movies, too and I was very sad for him, too, because last year I have watched first and third season of “Glee”… TV Series can’t enter my movie lists but if they are died, I can dedicate my pages to their stars. Cory sang Michael Jackson’s and Whitney Houston’s songs in “Glee”, and then he went to their house.
